I know how hard it can be to choose the perfect Father’s Day gift, especially if you’re shopping for a dad who loves travel and often prioritizes making memories over collecting objects. It can feel even harder when your father doesn’t give you any gift-giving suggestions, or tells you that a Father’s Day gift isn’t required at all!
If you have a travel-loving father, this gift guide is for you. I’ve curated ten perfect Father’s Day gifts for dads who love to travel. The gift ideas range from everyday essentials to niche specialties, and they’re sourced from all around the world (but don’t worry – you can order them all on Amazon!). If you read through my list I’m sure you’ll discover the perfect gift that will make his Father’s Day one of his most memorable.
1. Apple AirTags

Every single time I stand at the baggage claim and watch my Air Tag-tracked luggage move from the plane to the carousel, someone’s dad taps me on the shoulder and says, “Is that one of those AirTags you’re using to do that?” Seriously, men are fascinated by these things!
If your dad has an iPhone, iPad or other Apple device, a four-pack of Apple AirTags is the perfect Father’s Day gift. Four AirTags is the perfect number for tracking a suitcase, laptop, keys and wallet (or four other valuables of his choice). AirTags ping off of all the Apple devices in the vicinity (or, the more than two billion active Apple devices around the world!) so he’ll always know the exact location of his items.
Note: AirTags aren’t sold with a case or holder, and I think the ones sold by Apple are too expensive. You might want to throw in a four-pack of AirTag holders so that he can attach his new AirTags to his stuff.
2. Techy Luggage

While we’re talking about technology, another great Father’s Day gift for dads who love travel is an updated, high-tech, carry-on suitcase. This hard-sided carry-on suitcase made by SwissGear (part of the Swiss Army family) is made from a durable, lightweight material that resists dents and scratches. A wired pouch inside holds a portable charger (not included – I like this one), making it super-easy for dad to charge his electronics as he navigates the airport.
This suitcase comes in five colors – my favorite is definitely the gunmetal grey as it’s sleek and professional looking, but not just basic black.
3. A Book by a Master of Travel

A book is a classic Father’s Day gift for a good reason – great literature can take you on an adventure from the comfort of your favorite armchair. A great book for a dad who loves travel is Anthony Bourdain’s World Travel: An Irreverent Guide. Published posthumously, this book features Bourdain’s own travel advice supplemented with complementary essays from his closest friends.
If you don’t think your dad will enjoy an Anthony Bourdain travel book, consider one of these titles instead:
- Wander: A Memoir of Letting go and Walking 2,000 Miles to a Meaningful Life – The award-winning story of a man who walked away from a traditionally “successful” life… and then walked all the way from Georgia to Maine.
- Lonely Planet: Epic Drives of the World – If dad is at home behind the wheel, he’ll love this guide to some of the world’s best road trips, complete with vintage-style illustrations of each.
- One Man’s Wilderness: An Alaskan Odyssey – Comedian Nick Offerman wrote the foreward to the newest edition of this classic memoir, about one man’s adventures building a self-sufficient log cabin in the Alaskan wilderness.
4. A Taste from Abroad

You don’t need a plane ticket, or even a restaurant reservation, to gift you dad flavors from abroad this Father’s Day. If your dad is a foodie, give him the gift of exotic flavors through one of the carefully-curated gift sets available on Amazon. My vote goes to this Global Spice and Hot Sauce Set, featuring five different hot sauces and five different flavored salts. However, if your dad isn’t into spicy food, here are some fun alternatives:
- Bones Coffee World Tour Sampler Pack – This gift set contains five different four-ounce bags of whole-bean, single-origin coffees (that was a lot of hyphens!) from around the world.
- The Best of Europe Cheese Assortment – Two pounds of specialty cheeses from countries like France, Spain and Italy
- Japanese Kit Kat Assortment – Make sampling these unique chocolate bars a family affair by having one person hide the packaging and the rest of the family try to guess the flavor!
5. Wanderlust-Inspired LEGO

Spend some quality time with your LEGO-loving dad with this fun Father’s Day gift. Every dad has a child at heart, and this 900+ piece LEGO City Passenger Airplane Kit will bring your dad’s out. One reviewer gave this ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for having the perfect combination of building experience, play value and durability. Personally, I’d rather fly on board one of these than on a 737-MAX. 😉
6. An Audible Subscription
Whether your dad has a long commute or loves a road trip, giving the gift of an Audible subscription will show how much you care. With more than 200,000 titles at his fingertips, your dad will have enough audiobooks and podcasts to keep him entertained all the way there and back. Subscriptions are available for anywhere from one month to one year, so you can match the subscription length to your budget.
7. Bring the Forest Home

If your dad dreams of The Great Outdoors, help him bring the wildness into his living room with an indulgent, scented candle inspired by his favorite back-country landscapes. This Frasier Fir candle from Thymes
If your dad isn’t the lumberjack type, he might still enjoy one of these home scents:
- Wood Sage & Sea Salt – The evocative smell of driftwood, sea salt and warm amber
- High Desert – The scent of the sun setting over the terracotta earth
- Havana Nights – An ultra-masculine scent that smells like midnight in a Cuban cigar bar
8. A Memory-Making Drone or GoPro

I know so many dads who pride themselves on being the family memory-maker. They are always behind the camera, taking pictures that will be cherished for a lifetime. If that sounds like your dad, one of the best Father’s Day gifts you could buy for him would be a GoPro Hero 12 or a DJI Mini Drone.
I have the new GoPro Hero 12 and it is a major upgrade from the older model I had before. I love that it’s waterproof up to 30 feet, so if you’re the type of family who spends summer at the lake or by the sea, or who loves boating or fishing, this is the perfect camera for your dad.
On the other hand, a drone like the DJI Mini 3 is ideal for families who like traveling to exotic destinations or who live on a large piece of land. Having the ability to film your family adventures from above is a total game-changer, and your family photos and videos will stand out from the crowd.
9. A Helpful Tech Organizer

If you’re on a tight budget, a small gift-giving budget can go a long way with one of these handy tech organizers. This zippered case comes in two sizes and more than twenty colors (I always recommend a bright color so it stands out more when it’s at the bottom of your bag). The interior has multiple mesh pockets and pouches designed to hold your dad’s cables, small devices, memory cards, USB sticks and more. Gone are the days of running around a foreign city looking for a charger because “someone” can’t find the one they packed.
10. The Manliest Toiletry Bag

Is your dad still packing his shaving kit in a plastic Ziplock bag? This Father’s Day, help him upgrade to a 100% leather toiletry case specifically designed for male travelers.
This leather toiletry case comes in several different colors. It has a wide zippered opening which makes it easy to see what’s inside the surprisingly spacious interior. The interior is fully lined with a waterproof material so your dad won’t have to worry about leaks, and the handle on the end makes it easy to hang in even the smallest hotel bathroom.
