Writing your 2024 travel horoscope is never an easy job. This year, I consulted three crystal balls (okay, in retrospect one of them might have just been a regular globe), I asked the stars for guidance (they told me to check an atlas) and I pretended to read the tea leaves of my travel companions (actually I was just checking to see if they were done yet because I didn’t want to spend our entire vacation drinking tea at the hotel’s breakfast buffet).
As you can see, I take the writing of these travel horoscopes very seriously… but jokes aside, I do want every one of my readers to have an amazing travel experience in 2024!
Judge me all you want, but I think there is some truth to astrology. What else could possibly explain my incessant desire to travel all the time, if not that I’m a typical Sagittarius? Sure, everyone is different, but I think that we all see a little bit of ourselves in our zodiac signs, which is why I’ve come up with the twelve 2024 travel recommendations below, based on the most common positive and negative traits of each zodiac sign combined with my extensive travel experience.

Aries 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Best Travel Destination for Aries in 2024 is Nicaragua
Your Travel Strengths: Courageous and fearless, you’re not afraid to travel off the beaten path.
Your Travel Challenges: Your competitive spirit means you always want to be the first to visit a new hot-spot… occasionally at the expensive of visiting somewhere you’d enjoy more.
Seriously, I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about Nicaragua. It is the perfect travel destination for Aries in 2024. Unlike expensive Costa Rica and Americanized Belize, Nicaragua retains authentic Central American charm, stunning natural landscapes and overall affordability. Although Nicaragua sees relatively few tourists compared to its neighboring countries, there is still ample tourist infrastructure including safe, paved roads, shuttle and public bus transportation between cities, reliable ferries to the main islands and excursions that are easily organized upon arrival.
If you have seven or ten days in Nicaragua, I recommend exploring the country’s southwest. This allows you to visit the colonial city of Granada, the surf town of San Juan del Sur and the volcanic island in Ometepe Lake. With more time, you can also hop across the country to the islands along its Caribbean coast, like Little Corn Island and Big Corn Island.
Taurus 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Perfect 2024 Travel Destination for Taurus: The South of France
Your Travel Strengths: Grounded, stabled and practical, nothing ruffles your feathers (maybe because bulls don’t have feathers?).
Your Travel Challenges: You’re so set in your ways that you can get grumpy when you see all the ways your favorite travel destinations have changed over the years.
In 2024, Taurus travelers will love visiting The South of France. In particular, the charming old towns of Provence and the Cote d’Azur will capture your heart, thanks to France’s unparalleled commitment to historical preservation. The country is home to almost 45,000 protected historic buildings and a further 260,000 “objects” (including monuments and other works of art) that are closely guarded to preserve their original history. One of my favorite towns near Provence (shown above) is Uzes, which holds the title of being the first duchy of France.
The South of France is perfect for Taurus travelers because all of this rich history is supported by modern infrastructure that makes traveling a breeze. Even small towns and villages have good public transportation connections, and the roads are safe and easy to drive if you’d prefer to get around by car. You’ll find helpful tourist information offices, clean public toilets and fountains spilling out refreshing drinking water. You literally get the best of the Old and New worlds.
Gemini 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Best Destination for Gemini Travelers in 2024 is Buenos Aires
Your Travel Strengths: You can strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere… even if you don’t share a common language.
Your Travel Challenges: Geminis are famously indecisive, so you’re constantly changing your travel plans.
One of the friendliest countries I’ve ever visited is Argentina, and if chatty Geminis are looking to connect with locals in 2024, Argentina’s capital city is the ideal place to do it. With a population of more than 16 million people, many of whom speak excellent English, Buenos Aires is one of the best places to leave the tourist bubble and have an authentic experience.
When you visit Buenos Aires, I recommend renting an apartment in the Recoleta or Palermo neighborhoods. Here, you’ll be close to cafes, bars and restaurants where you can connect with other people. I rented an apartment that had a shared rooftop pool, and I got tons of local insight just from chatting with other people who were also sunbathing or taking a dip. I met tons of people at La Bomba del Tiempo, a weekly steel drum concert that will be a highlight of your stay (book your tickets online in advance).
For indecisive Geminis (you know who you are), the plummeting value of the Argentinean peso means that you can easily book last-minute domestic flights around the country at a low cost. If you get tired of city life, consider escaping for a few days to the vineyards of Mendoza or the mountains of Bariloche.

Cancer 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Best Travel Destination for Cancers in 2024 is The Baltics
Your Travel Strengths: Cancers are sensitive, compassionate and protective, which means that you’re always looking after the well-being of your travel companions.
Your Travel Challenges: Sometimes your worries can hold you back from doing the things you really want to do.
In 2024, if Cancer is your zodiac sign I would love to see you travel to the Baltic countries: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. I visited these countries at the end of an eight-week Eastern Europe itinerary (scroll to the bottom of the post for details about my time in the Baltics) and was completely surprised by how safe, modern and comfortable they were.
In many ways traveling in the Baltics feels like traveling in Scandinavia, but at a fraction of the cost. If you’re into hygge, or cozy coffee shops, hotel saunas and shopping for homemade woolen and wooden homewares, you’re going to love Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. You could easily visit the capitals of all three countries in ten days (three days in each, plus a bonus day to take an excursion) or spent a week or two just getting to know one of the three countries.
Leo 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Dream Trip for Leos in 2023 is an African Safari
Your Travel Strengths: High-energy Leos can keep the energy turned up to max all day, every day, so you thrive on high-energy, packed itineraries.
Your Travel Challenges: Your self-centered nature makes it hard to compromise with travel companions.
This year, every Leo traveler should plan an adventurous African safari. There’s nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of turning your car around the corner and realizing you’re behind a herd of elephants (that’s what happened to me in South Africa!) or sitting silently in your open-air Jeep, trying not to wake the lions sleeping under a nearby tree.
Personally, I spent two days on a self-drive safari in Addo Elephant National Park, which is about midway between Cape Town and Durban on the coast of South Africa. The nearest airport is in Port Elizabeth, where you can rent a car and reach the park in less than 45 minutes. In our two days we spotted many of the park’s 600 wild elephants, along with other animals such as hyenas, warthogs, zebras, kudu and even lions (from a distance, to be fair). If you’re really adventurous, you could follow my full itinerary – we started our trip with some shark diving at the Aliwal Shoal, and ended it by hiking Lion’s Head in Cape Town!
Of course, there are other amazing national parks and safari opportunities all across the African continent. I’ve heard amazing things about the lush Okavango Delta in Botswana, and Kenya’s Masai Mara region is also extremely popular. No matter where you go, you’re bound to have an unforgettable trip.
Virgo 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Dream Destination for Virgo Travelers in 2024 is Machu Picchu
Your Travel Strengths: Meticulous and detail-oriented Virgos are amazing at planning complex itineraries and navigating foreign bureaucracy.
Your Travel Challenges: The flip side of that meticulous nature is Virgo’s nit-picky attitude. It drives you crazy to be inconvenienced by a problem when you can see an obvious, simple fix.
It feels like the Peruvian government keeps adding new rules, restrictions and barriers to visiting Machu Picchu, but there’s no traveler better-equipped to rise to the challenge than uber-organized Virgos! Whether you’re planning to hike in along the Inca Trail or ride the comfortable tourist train to Aguas Calientes (with a quick stop in the hot springs, of course!), you’ll plan and execute the perfect Machu Picchu itinerary.
While you’re in Peru there are some other extraordinary experiences that you can have (assuming you plan ahead). Lima is home to the best restaurant in the world – Central – which books out months in advance. Three hours down the coast, Paracas is your jumping off point for the Balleastas Islands and Paracas National Park, where you can see more birds and sea lions then you’d ever be able to count. From there, you could head inland to the desert oasis in Huacachina, or ascend into the Andes and visit the floating islands in Lake Titacaca. As long as you’re organized, you can do all of this (and more!) in less than two weeks.
Libra 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Ideal Travel Destination for Libra in 2024 is Victoria, Canada
Your Travel Strengths: A natural peacekeeper, Libras can diplomatically solve interpersonal conflicts between travel companions.
Your Travel Challenges: Libras can be a bit superficial when it comes to everything from choosing a hotel (wasting money on a property just because it looks nice on Instagram) to getting going in the morning (they won’t leave the hotel room until their hair is just right).
I checked with the universe and it told me that Libras should definitely travel to Victoria, Canada in 2024. The capital city of British Columbia is located on Vancouver Island, just off the Pacific Coast of Canada. This is the perfect destination to travel with friends or family thanks to its compact, pedestrian-friendly city center, where almost everything is within easy walking distance.
In Victoria, you can walk out the doors of your hotel along the Inner Harbour and within fifteen minutes be spotting killer whales, relaxing in a floating spa, exploring a world-renowned museum or shopping in cool independent boutiques. If your group wants to split up that’s never a problem, as the city is extremely safe and welcoming for solo travelers. Victoria also has the highest number of restaurants per capita of any city in Canada, making it perfect for a foodie long weekend.
Scorpio 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Perfect Travel Destination for Scorpios in 2024 is India
Your Travel Strengths: Passionate Scorpios jump in head first and immerse themselves in every aspect of a new culture.
Your Travel Challenges: Known for being impatient, Scorpios see every minute of a delay as a minute of missed experiences.
There’s nowhere on the planet quite like India. Just stepping out of the airport is a completely immersive experience, with sights, sounds and smells that are completely unlike anything you’ve experienced before. Even the journey to your first night’s accommodation will be an adventure, as your taxi swerves around cows in the street, joins in the cacophony of car horns and stops for a terracotta cup of masala chai en route.
The great thing about India is that even when you’re doing nothing, you’re doing something. Queuing in the dark so that you’ll be the first inside the Taj Mahal at sunrise, feeling the earth supporting your back as you end your Indian yoga retreat in savasana pose, or eyeing the monkey that’s eyeing your empty breakfast plates as you wait for the server to clear your table are all just as memorable as seeing the country’s 42 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Sagittarius 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Best Travel Destination for Sagittarius in 2024 is Bali
Your Travel Strengths: The zodiac’s true adventurers, Sagittarius travelers feel more at home when they’re on the road than when they’re actually at home.
Your Travel Challenges: The constant urge to travel means that Sagittarius travelers are prone booking trips impulsively, without first checking their budget and vacation schedule.
As a Sagittarius, I already have three trips (on two continents) planned for 2024. I’m looking for culture, food, beaches, adventure and relaxation… and although I’ll be splitting that over three (or more!) trips, I know one place where Sagittarius travelers can find it all: Bali.
The great thing about traveling to Bali is that you can feel like you’re getting several trips in one. Of course, Ubud is the place to go for a spiritual experience full of yoga, meditation and Balinese Hindu culture. Just a few hours away, though, Canggu has major hipster vibes with vegan restaurants, coworking cafes, flea markets and surf classes. And if beaches are more your thing, a quick boat trip can take you to the white-sand beaches of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Gili Air. Really, the only thing Bali lacks is a metropolitan-style city, but if you fly via Singapore, Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur it’s easy to add that experience to your itinerary as well.
Capricorn 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Perfect Destination for Capricorns in 2024 is Mexico’s West Coast
Your Travel Strengths: Natural go-getters, Capricorns are always achieving their goals and know how to leverage travel experiences into advancement at work and at school.
Your Travel Challenges: Capricorns often see small-talk as a waste of time, which can strain relationships with people you meet along the way.
This year, I want every Capricorn traveler to spend at least one week in an intensive foreign language course abroad. Personally, I’m recommending one of the language schools on Mexico’s West Coast. Destinations like Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita and Los Cabos all have language schools where students can improve their Spanish listening, speaking, reading and writing, while also learning more about Mexican culture.
The advantage of taking a Spanish course along Mexico’s Pacific Coast is that you’ll still have access to beautiful beaches (unlike in Mexico City or Guadalajara, two other popular destinations for language learners), but you won’t be dodging crowds of all-inclusive resort guests venturing into town on guided day tours.
Of course, if you’re already fluent in Spanish, you can study a different language abroad or even just use at-home language learning tools to prepare for future travels.
Aquarius 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Best Travel Destination for Aquarius in 2024 is Greenland
Your Travel Strengths: Never one to follow the crowd, Aquarius thoughtfully choose travel destinations based on their values, not on what’s trending.
Your Travel Challenges: Whenever I’m arriving at the airport in a new country with an Aquarius I pretend I don’t know them until we reach the baggage claim, as their lack of respect for authority can lead to some uncomfortable situations with immigration officials, police officers and ticket inspectors.
Greenland is the perfect travel destination for thoughtful Aquarius travelers in 2024. As an autonomous territory of Denmark, Greenland has its own government, parliament and movement for full independence. The fact that it previously saw little tourism means that Greenland has recently been able to slowly grow its tourism industry in a sustainable and eco-friendly way. Furthermore, the sustainable and eco-friendly tourism industry in Greenland is helping to replace traditional jobs lost to climate change, meaning that Aquarius travelers can feel good about visiting Greenland in 2024.
Greenland is an up-and-coming destination for wildlife lovers, with unique bird-watching and whale-watching excursions on offer. As most of the landmass is impassable, the best way to get around Greenland is by cruise or ferry, and from the boat’s decks you’ll the chance to see its unique landscapes of icebergs, tundra, glaciers and mountains. Of course, reaching these landscapes can be more of a challenge, and may require a helicopter, snowmobile or even a dog sled!
Pisces 2024 Travel Horoscope
The Perfect Travel Destination for Pisces in 2024 is Lisbon, Portugal
Your Travel Strengths: As the artists of the zodiac, Pisces travelers always make a point of experiencing the local music, art, design and gastronomy of the places they visit.
Your Travel Challenges: Pisces’ trusting nature can make them an easy target for scammers.
In 2024, I’m recommending Pisces travelers head to Lisbon, Portugal, preferably in the shoulder season. Lisbon is a true feast for the senses: everything from the sidewalk to the skyline is visually stunning, and nothing is quite as evocative as an evening spent sipping local port wine while listening to the haunting sounds of fado music.
For a more authentic travel experience, try to visit Lisbon in the shoulder season (spring or fall) and stay in Santos, the peaceful waterfront neighborhood that is just a quick walk or funicular ride from the hustle and bustle of the touristic center. From here, it’s a picturesque walk along the waterfront to Alfama, where you can listen to fado music in the evening. You’re also just a few minutes away from the tram stop that takes you to the famous Tower of Belem, and from the urban train that follows the coastline to the picture-perfect beaches of Cascais.
