The Marriott Calgary Airport Hotel is located inside the terminal at the Calgary International Airport in Alberta, Canada. It is the only in-terminal hotel at the Calgary Airport, and it’s the best option for travelers who have a very early flight out of YYC (or who are arriving very late at night and don’t want to make a long drive in the cold or the dark).
I recently stayed at the Marriott Calgary Airport In-Terminal Hotel before a 6:00 am flight that required a 4:00 am check-in. With Calgary winters being so cold and snowy, I didn’t want to risk missing my flight if my car got stuck in the snow on the way to the airport. By staying inside the airport, I was also able to get an extra hour of sleep that night (which is important before a full international travel day!).
While I was at the Marriott Hotel at the Calgary Airport, I took photos and notes to show you what my stay was like. Below, I’ll highlight the rooms, dining, amenities and services at this airport hotel, and at the end I’ll let you know if I think it was all worth it.
Location of the Calgary Marriott Airport Hotel
The Calgary Marriott Airport Hotel is located inside the Calgary International Airport. You don’t have to go outside to get from the airport to your gate (or vice versa). It is located on the Departures level (upstairs) near Door 13.
From the hotel lobby it should take less than five minutes to walk to any of the check-in counters at the airport.
It’s also about a five-minute walk from the baggage claim areas – just take one of the escalators or elevators to go upstairs.
The Marriott Hotel at the Calgary Airport is landside, which means it is not inside security. The Calgary Airport does not have an airside hotel in the secure area.

Rooms at the Calgary Marriott In-Terminal Airport Hotel
I booked the most basic guest room at the Marriott Hotel at the Calgary Airport for my one-night stay before an early winter flight. As you can see, the room was spacious, clean and contemporary.
The sleeping area had floor-to-ceiling windows. I didn’t pay to upgrade to a runway view, so my room overlooked the roof of the airport building and the parking lot.
There was also a desk with office chair, two arm chairs, a wardrobe (with an iron) and lots of places to hang my jacket and handbags.
The bathroom was also nice, with a large walk-in shower, hair dryer and personal care products from ThisWorks. The products in the shower were refillable, but there was also single-use body lotion, soap and even aromatherapy pillow spray (the latter is one of my favorite products to use at home too!).
I can’t fault the rooms at all, and it was certainly more than I needed for a quick sleep before a 3:45 am wakeup!
Other guest room types include the aforementioned runway view rooms, rooms with access to the M Club lounge, suites (including a family suite) and a hospitality suite (with Murphy wall bed) for anyone needing to take a business meeting in their room.
Food & Drink at the Calgary Marriott Hotel at YYC Airport
My apologies – this is not the best photo of my meal! I forgot to take a photo of my food at the hotel’s restaurant so I grabbed this screenshot from my TikTok.
I’ve never been very impressed with the restaurants at the Calgary International Airport, and I have to say that YAKIMA Social Kitchen, located inside the Marriott Hotel, is probably the best restaurant in the airport.
I ordered the veggie burger (with fried halloumi, portobello mushrooms, avocado chutney, arugula and house sweet chili sauce), fries and a local draft beer. My food was good and service was fine, but a bit slow (don’t come here if you’re tight on time).
The menu at YAKIMA also features appetizers, salads, flatbread pizzas and heartier main dishes like steak and pasta. Food prices are on par with other restaurants like Milestones or Cactus Club, though drinks were a bit pricey.

Amenities and Services at the Marriott Hotel at Calgary International Airport
Indoor Pool & Hot Tub
Honestly, I was tempted to take a dip in the pool and hot tub, but I didn’t want to spend the next day flying across the world with a wet swimsuit in my bag. The pool area was warm, clean and well-equipped with lots of pool towels.
I walked by the pool area twice. The first time, there was one family using the pool, and the second time it was empty. If you’ve got kids with energy to burn, bring them down!
Fitness Center
The fitness center here overlooks the runways of the Calgary International Airport. It has to be one of the best gym views in the city!
There are a few treadmills, along with a few machines, a rack of free weights and some exercise balls. There is also cold water, fresh fruit, hand towels and complimentary earphones (grab a pair to take on your flight!).
I also noticed there was a spa beside the gym, but it was closed at the time of my visit. Make sure to book your spa services in advance as I suspect they may only open upon request.
Is the Calgary Marriott Airport Hotel Worth It?
This is a harder question to answer. Everything about my stay was totally fine and this is a comfortable, convenient hotel.
However, particularly in high season (the only time I can fly) I find that prices here are prohibitively high (for me), and it’s hard to get the cost down. I tried reserving my room through multiple channels, including directly with the property, using my AAA/CAA membership and booking through my employer, but the high prices seemed set in stone.
However, if you’re a business traveler and the company is paying, this is a good option before an early morning flight. Similarly, if staying here means that you don’t have to drive two hours down the QE II in a blizzard on the morning of your flight, it’s worth the peace of mind.
The best rate I could find at the Marriott Calgary Airport Hotel was via Booking.com, and it saved me one dollar compared to booking directly with the property. You can check current rates and availability here.
Other Calgary Airport Hotels
Marriott and Delta are part of the same company, and there is also a Delta Hotel at the YYC Airport. It’s located across the street from the terminals but connected via an overhead walkway. (Technically they still call it in-terminal, but I disagree!) Since prices at both hotels always seem to be exactly the same, I booked the one that would save me 50 steps in the morning.
If you’re open to leaving the airport property, there are numerous hotels within two or three kilometers of the Calgary airport. A few highly-rated nearby hotels include:
Hotel 11
I’m not familiar with Hotel 11’s parent brand (SONESTA) but they have really good reviews, a free airport shuttle and one of the closest locations to the airport. There is a pool, hot tub and restaurant on site. Rooms here are also very affordable compared to the neighboring hotels.
Applause Hotel Calgary Airport
The Applause Hotels around the Calgary Airport have become popular spots for people wanting to start their vacation one night early. Start your stay at the property’s Tonic Restaurant + Bar, then take the party to their two rooftop hot tubs. Just don’t stay up too late if you have an early flight!
The Westin Calgary Airport
Less than ten minutes by free shuttle from the Calgary Airport, the Westin is also part of the Marriott and Delta family. Rooms and amenities are comparable to its in-terminal cousin, but the price here is a bit more affordable.
